Ian Shive

Ian Shive is a photographer from America with a world renowned reputation for his environmental advocacy work. In addition to being recognized as an author, film producer, and educator, he was most recently bestowed with the prestigious and honorable Sierra Club's 2011 Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography. His work appeared in countless publications around the world including National Geographic, Time Magazine, US News, Popular Science, Ski, Travel Channel, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Gourmet, World Report, Men's Journal, Outside and many more.

Photographer Ian Shive is often referred to as the "leading chronicler of America's National Parks" by contemporary fans and critics alike. His book, "The National Parks: Our American Landscape" has become a best seller. Armed with nothing but his camera, he has been instrumental in helping to shape diplomacy efforts in Afganistan and elsewhere around the globe through his Wilderness Diplomacy initiative.

Besides being an illustrious photographer, Ian Shive has conceptualized and subsequently founded a remarkable platform for other photographers to share their work, called Tandem Stills + Motion, Inc. As a photography and motion clip licensing agency, it has quickly gained momentum and is currently showcasing the work of over 300 photographers from around the world. When he is not on assignment or behind his desk, Ian Shive imparts his knowledge in photojournalism as an instructor at the University of Southern California.
